Meet the Basic EMDR Training Staff

At each 3 day training there you will be practice sessions of EMDR. During that practice time, there will be two facilitators helping you learn the mechanics of EMDR. Their job is to guide, coach, and give feedback to help you learn the EMDR protocol.

Barb Maiberger, MA, LPC
Barb is an Instructor and Facilitator of EMDRIA approved trainings taught under the model approved by EMDRIA for Molly Gierasch, Ph.D.

She is also an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and a Certified therapist in EMDR.



Leslee Bednark


Lisa Dionne, RN, MA, LPC. has worked in the Health care profession for more than 25 years and is the administrator for these EMDR Trainings. She has a psychotherapy practice in Boulder since 2005 and has worked in physical rehabilitation, mental health, and hospice and as a critical care nurse. Lisa specializes in EMDR and Hakomi.

Rachel Cahn
Rachel Cahn MA, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Boulder, Colorado, working with couples and adults experiencing anxiety and fear, trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, life transitions, and those seeking personal growth.  As an EMDRIA-certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant-in Training, Rachel has been utilizing EMDR extensively since 2004. She offers EMDR Consultation groups in the Boulder and Denver areas, and is a Teaching Assistant for the two year Hakomi Psychotherapist Training program. Rachel's love of witnessing and facilitating the deep healing that  arises in the EMDR process, and seeing the sense of freedom and wholeness that returns to her clients, is matched by her delight in mentoring therapists in developing skillfulness with their EMDR practice.



Leona Furnari

Leona Furnari, L.C.S.W. is a psychotherapist specializing in recovery from trauma, including recovery from abusive/cultic groups and relationships. She is an EMDRIA-approved Consultant, has facilitated EMDR trainings for many years, and provides individual and group consultation for newly-trained and experienced EMDR clinicians. She works with adolescents & adults, and facilitates support groups for adolescents dealing with grief, family change and peer relationships.




Olga Vera-NeSmith

Olga Vera-NeSmith, Ph.D. - Dr. Vera-NeSmith is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She is an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist and a Consultant – in – training. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults and also Cross Cultural issues, using EMDR and integrating other treatment modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Play therapy, Parent/Child Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family systems Approach. Dr. Vera-Nesmith also serves the Spanish speaking community. Dr. Vera-NeSmith currently is offering consultation groups specializing in EMDR.  Dr. Vera-Nesmith believes that clients have the innate capacity and wisdom to heal and EMDR facilitates this process.http://www.verapsychology.com/


Arielle Schwartz
Arielle Schwartz MA, LPC is a licensed psychotherapist and a clinical psychology doctoral candidate.  She completed her MA at Naropa University in Body-Centered Psychotherapy and was initially trained in EMDR in 2001.  Ms. Schwartz became a facilitator for the EMDR Basic Training with Molly Gierasch in 2007. She is a Certified EMDR therapist and Consultant in training. Ms. Schwartz provides psychotherapy to adults and children; her specializations include working with women during pregnancy and integrating EMDR with play therapy to assist children to access inner resiliency and resolve trauma.
