Overview of the Basic EMDR Training Seminars

Part 1 of the Basic EMDR Training
  1. Historical and physiological overview including an explanation of the Adaptive Information Processing model, the underlying explanatory model of EMDR.
  2. History taking for identification of “targets”.
  3. Creating a trauma-informed treatment plan.
  4. The eight phases of EMDR necessary for comprehensive treatment
  5. Resource development and strengthening positive belief structures using dual attention stimulation.
  6. Applications to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Part 2 of the Basic EMDR Training
  1. Review of EMDR protocols for trauma and for resource development
  2. Introduction to cognitive interweaves
  3. Techniques for abreaction, “stuckness”, and incomplete sessions.
  4. Working with complicated cases.
  5. Specialty applications.
  6. Discussion time with regard to your cases.
Training Hours for both Part 1 and Part 2

Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm
Saturday 9 am to 5:30 pm
Sunday 9 am to 4:30 pm


EMDR Basic Training Schedule

EMDR Basic Training consists of two parts:
Part 1: prepares clinicians to begin using EMDR in their practices with selected clients.
Part 2: addresses working with more complicated issues for clients.

All trainings are based on the training curriculum established by the EMDR International Association. The model requires 40 hours of instruction with 10 hours of consultation. Upon completion of the 40 hours of instruction and 10 hours of consultation you will receive a Certificate of Completion to practice EMDR.

Training Fees:

Cost: $1100.00 - Includes Part 1 and Part 2
Note: The fee for the training does not include the 10 hours of consultation. You will have to arrange for consultation and pay the consultant directly.

Fees: All fees must be paid in US Funds

  1. $1100.00 for both trainings
  2. $1050.00 for both trainings postmarked 15 days prior to training date
  3. Full- time nonprofit employee: $100.00 off
  4. Full-time Graduate student/intern: $100.00 off

Payment Plan:

  1. $300 deposit to save your space
  2. $400 paid by training date for Part 1
  3. $400 paid by training date for Part 2
  4. Full-time nonprofit employee: $50 off each Part (total $100 discount)
  5. Full-time Graduate student/intern: $50.00 off each Part (total $100 discount)

The receipt of your registration and payment or deposit will confirm your space. Visit the registration page to sign up for a training.

If you need to transfer to a different seminar, there is a $75.00 processing fee up to 15 days before the date of the seminar. If you withdraw within 15 days of the seminar, there is a $150.00 processing fee. The rest of the tuition will be refunded. We will take into consideration emergencies and illness.
