Workshop Overview
This two day training will cover advanced skills for clients with Complex PTSD and preparing them for the EMDR Trauma Protocol. The course will provide creative ways to help clients access their internal resources. The lectures and experiential exercises will explore: visual, kinesthetic and auditory interventions with the emphasis on body centered awareness. Therapists will begin to build their own toolkit with the scripts provided, which can be used immediately with their clients.
Required: Full Completion of an EMDRIA Approved Basic EMDR Training to participate.
As a result of this training, participants will be able to:
- Be able to describe the basic physiology and neurobiology of PTSD.
- Assess when it’s appropriate to prepare clients more for the EMDR trauma protocol
- Demonstrate one specific skill for each of the following processing styles – visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
- Assess and practice the appropriateness of using BLS with RDI in the Preparation Phase with Complex PTSD.
- Put into practice using 2 examples of pendulation to help build affect regulation skills.
- Determine when to use pendulation as a decelaration tool during Desensitization Phase for regulation affect tolerance for client.

$50.00 discount if register and pay at defined timeframes, otherwise you will be charged full fee.

- Participants can cancel at anytime and must be done in writing.
- Participants that cancel before the "cut off date" will be a given a refund of their payment minus a $75.00 processing fee.
- Participants that cancel on or after the "cut off date" will not be given a refund.
- The "cut off date" is 14 days (2 weeks) prior the first day of the workshop.
- There are no refunds for full, partial, or non attendance of the workshop.
Cancellation of Workshop
Workshops not meeting the minimum enrollment may be cancelled. Participants will be notified one week prior to the workshop. A refund will be provided or the participant can transfer to the next available workshop.
Barb Maiberger, MA, LPC
Barb Maiberger is the author of "EMDR Essentials: A Guide for Clients and Therapists" available for
sale on her website. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado and has a Masters degree in Somatic Psychology. Barb is an EMDRIA Approved Independent Trainer and Consultant.
Barb Maiberger maintains responsibility for this program and its content in accordance with EMDRIA Standards.
Katie Asmus, MA, LPC, BMP
Katie Asmus is a licensed therapist in the state of Colorado. She is in private practice in Boulder specializing in working with trauma and life transition. She has a Masters degree in Somatic Psychology and is an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist. Katie trains therapists internationally on how to successfully work with trauma.
